Try a motorcycle training course

Riding. For motorcycle riders, it’s a sense of freedom, a form of expression, and a lot of fun that you can enjoy for years. But with the freedom and fun comes a responsibility to know the basic skills for safe motorcycling.

That’s why we, along with the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF), encourage a safety program. We’d like all riders to become students and participate in a motorcycle training school to help avoid injury—whether you’re a beginning rider or an experienced veteran.

But it’s more than just learning about the importance of a helmet, long sleeves, and long pants. In a basic rider motorcycle course, certified instructors will teach you the rules of the road, along with the physical and mental skills necessary to ride a motorcycle.

Advanced motorcycle safety training program

Advanced motorcyclist safety courses are available for riders looking to refresh or enhance their skills.

This class helps you develop smooth and precise motorcycle throttle control and handle more advanced braking and cornering maneuvers—like swerving—allowing you to learn more about the limits of your abilities and your bike’s capabilities. There’s also an emphasis on honing on-the-road performance, perception, and awareness, including crash avoidance skills while on your ride.

In some areas, classes specifically geared toward scooter and dirt bike riders also are available.

Finding a motorcycle safety school near you

The MSF, along with select motorcycle dealerships, offers courses throughout the U.S. To locate an MSF site near you, visit http://www.msf-usa.org/. They also provide online courses covering basic instruction to get you started and help determine if motorcycling is a good fit for you.

Successful completion of a course can mean you’re eligible for incentives from motorcycle distributors to cover course tuition or fees. In many cases, graduates can obtain a waiver for the riding skill test and/or written knowledge test portion of their state’s license exam requirements. Check with your state’s Department of Motor Vehicles to learn more.

Did we also mention that you could save money on your motorcycle insurance by taking a rider course with us? We also offer a multi-line discount and a motorcycle rider group discount. Contact us, and let’s ride together.
